Rachel studied law at both the University of Auckland (LLB 1987) and Victoria University of Wellington (LLM 1997). She was admitted to the NZ Bar in 1987 and while working in England was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1991.
Rachel has extensive insurance law experience: she worked for McElroy Milne before her sojourn overseas, a leading London insurance law firm while abroad, and spent six years working in the insurance team of a major New Zealand law firm on her return. She also has general litigation and employment law experience, including three years working on leaky building litigation for plaintiffs.
Since rejoining McElroys in 2005, Rachel’s time has been occupied primarily with professional indemnity litigation, including defending claims against solicitors, accountants and building professionals.
